Alexithymia and psychosomatic diseases in adolescents: primary headaches

Background . Alexithymia is traditionally regarded as a factor which influences the development of psychosomatic diseases and contribute to more severe prolonged course somatic high level alexithymia indicates deficit in cognitive processes associated with awareness, exteriorization regulation feelings emotions. In recent years, lot research has been conducted on comorbidity adults, but there are very few studies relation children adolescents. The aim To analyze adolescents, study correspondence central sensitization (CS) adolescents primary headaches (migraine tension-type headache). Methods diagnosis headache was based criteria for International Classification Headache, 3rd edition. group included 84 average age – 14 [13; 16] (51 females, 33 males). CS assessed using Russian version “Central Sensitization Inventory” (2020) “Alexithymia questionnaire children” (2019). Headache intensity measured Visual Analogue Scale. There were also number months days per month headaches; duration night sleep; phrasal speech start. Results discussion results showed direct correlation between levels (rS = 0.49; p 0.00001), severity 0.24; 0.027). no significant (rS= 0.06; 0.5), reliable severity, start nocturnal sleep. Conclusion A observed various diseases. Primary sensitization. Pediatricians neurologists should be advised assess headaches.
